Sacred Heart School Westport

Student Council

Sacred Heart School Westport has a progressive and innovative Student Council that acts as a representative structure through which students can develop leadership skills and become involved in the affairs of the school, working in partnership with school management, staff and parents for the benefit of the school and its students. The school has both a Junior and Senior Student Council to represent the views of the various age groups in the school. Each class elects a class representative and a deputy representative. The President of the Student Council is elected by their peers and holds a very visible position of student leadership. The president chairs the council meetings, is a primary contact between the student body and school management. She also addresses the school community at the carol service and graduation mass.
