Sacred Heart School Westport

Principal's Welcome

Staff MK9832.jpgWe are delighted to welcome you to our school's website which we hope will give you an insight into the school experience of our students here at Sacred Heart School (SHS) Westport.

At SHS Westport we strive to create a vibrant, caring and inclusive environment which encourages and supports each student to mature and flourish academically and personally. Each young woman in SHS Westport is recognised as an individual with their own talents and needs. Our work as a school community with a dedicated and committed staff is to support students to discover these gifts and realise their full potential. We aim to challenge, stimulate and support students through a broad curriculum, quality teaching and learning and a comprehensive range of extra-curricular activities which extends learning beyond the classroom, enriching the overall student experience.

It is our hope for your daughter that they leave SHS Westport with academic qualifications in keeping with their abilities, with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine appreciation and a respect for the environment, their community and the world around them.

As a Catholic school under the trusteeship of CEIST (Catholic Education an Irish Schools’ Trust) we embrace Christian values, teaching our students to show care and concern for others and to strive to achieve their personal best. While we are a Catholic school, SHS Westport wholeheartedly welcomes students from all faiths and none. We are proud of the cultural and religious diversity of our school and sense of community and belonging created for all our students.

We are enormously proud of our school and our role in shaping the young women of the Westport area into the future generation of leaders, educators, inventors, explorer, scientists, creators, etc. The possibilities are endless.

We invite you to browse the website and welcome any further queries you may have.
