Well done to Niamh Hughes-Kelly in TY who has been accepted into the Early University Entrance programme run by DCU for TY students. This programme offers a chance for Transition year students to apply for a genuine university experience in Dublin City University.
They hold weekly live classes from 10am-4pm on different days depending on the course you choose. There is a wide range of options to choose from for your course including Psychology, Japanese or Computer Science along with about 9 or 10 other options. You can actually apply for 3 courses in order of preference.
Niamh has said that “It is a good opportunity that can help you advance in your education and maturity”.
They also provide financial assistance to those who need it so everybody has a fair chance to access this opportunity.
There are three modules held per year, the last of this school year’s applications are being accepted in a couple months . In a bid to encourage others to apply Niamh said that “The actual process of applying is not hard though I do suggest setting aside some time for it as they ask for a letter explaining why you want to join, teacher recommendations and some basic information about yourself.”
“The application form will be sent to your house if you email them. You can find this email address quite easily when you look it up and they are all very accommodating and answer any questions you may have quite quickly.”
“I sincerely suggest you apply for a spot if this sounds like something that may interest you.”
Well done Niamh and thank you for sharing your experience with all of us.
